From Business to Barn

Guess who just applied their meal-prepping obsession to a horse yard? That’s right, me! 🙋‍♀️ I’m currently looking after some lovely equine friends, and I’ve brought a little bit of my world into theirs – because, why not?!

If you know me, you’ll know what a fan I am of time blocking and batching tasks. And that I believe multi-tasking is the nemesis of progress. So, when it came to preparing feeds and haynets, I went all in!

It’s not the way things are normally done around here, and it’s not the way anyone else has been doing it. But here’s the scoop: making 2-days worth of haynets took me just 9 minutes – barely longer than prepping just the breakfast ones alone. And guess what?

This small change saved me 21 minutes over the two days. It doesn’t sound like much, but that’s just ONE task. Of course, I did the same for a few other tasks around the yard, too. The result is that I’ve streamlined the morning routine (down to 36 minutes from 64!), and given myself extra time to ride and actually enjoy being around these magnificent creatures.

Funny thing? When I shared this with others at the yard, their reactions ranged from “Why didn’t we think of that?” to “That’s brilliant!” – proving that sometimes, we’re too close to our routines to spot simple yet game-changing improvements.

It’s hard to see efficiencies that can be made when you are stuck in the day-to-day; that’s why our Freedom Unlimited Strategy Sessions are so effective. Whether it’s in business or horse care, a fresh perspective can unearth opportunities we never knew existed.

As a recent client told me, “this was worth every penny. We could totally have done this ourselves, but we never would have!”

If you need a bit of this in your life, whether it’s business efficiency or just how to automate your pet care – I’m here for ya! Feel free to book a call: [https://lnkd.in/eXnf48ae](https://lnkd.in/eXnf48ae)

From Business to Barn: How Efficiency Techniques Can Transform Your Routine

Applying business efficiency techniques to everyday tasks can make a significant difference, even in a horse yard. By using time blocking and batching, you can streamline your routines, save time, and boost productivity. This approach, which I call “Business to Barn,” has proven to be incredibly effective.

For example, preparing 2-days worth of haynets in just 9 minutes saved me 21 minutes over two days. This might not sound like much, but when you apply the same principle to other tasks, the time savings add up. My morning routine, which used to take 64 minutes, now takes just 36 minutes. This gives me extra time to ride and enjoy being around the horses.

When I shared this “Business to Barn” approach with others at the yard, their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. They realized that sometimes, we’re too close to our routines to spot simple yet game-changing improvements. This is why our Freedom Unlimited Strategy Sessions are so effective.
